Watch the Trailer for Disney’s Inside Out Spinoff Series, Dream Productions
Disney is expanding the world of Inside Out with a new spinoff series, Dream Productions. The four-episode miniseries, which dives into the inner workings of Riley’s dreams, will debut on Disney+ this December, just in time for the holiday season.
A Fresh Look Inside Riley’s Mind
Hot off the success of Inside Out 2—the highest-grossing film of 2024 with over $1.6 billion at the global box office—Disney is giving fans more reasons to explore the imaginative world of Riley’s emotions. Dream Productions takes viewers behind the scenes of Riley’s dreams, offering a comedic and creative exploration of how her subconscious shapes her nightly adventures.
The series stars Paula Pell (Girls5eva) as Paula Persimmon, a celebrated dream director under pressure to maintain her reputation. She’s joined by Richard Ayoade as Xeni, a daydream director with big ambitions to break into the world of nighttime dreams, despite his artistic ego.
A Hollywood Satire
In a playful nod to Hollywood, Dream Productions serves as a meta satire of the movie industry, portrayed through the quirky and colorful lens of Inside Out’s world. Written and directed by Mike Jones and produced by Jaclyn Simon, the show adopts a mockumentary style to deliver its laughs and insights.
The trailer showcases the dream-making process inside Riley’s mind, starting the moment she drifts off to sleep—whether it’s while watching TV on her Nana’s quilt or nodding off during a quiet evening. That’s when Paula and her team spring into action, helping Riley process memories in a cinematic way.
